What happens at the Wayag ranger station?
Wayag is a protected zone, and landings there, including the climb to the lookout peaks, are controlled by rangers. October to April is the core season. Seas are calmest then, and Wayag and the Dampier Strait are usually at their best. May, June and September are shoulder months. Demand is climbing. BPS Raja Ampat figures show about 19,839 visitors in 2023 and about 33,277 in 2024. For peak dates, book share-trip cabins 8-12 months ahead, and book private Wayag charters even earlier.
Does the longer sailing time change the price?
